Information for teachers
Are you a teacher looking to bring the topic of “Europe” to life in your classroom? Has a colleague told you about the EYP? Did you just happen to stumble upon this page? Below you will find all the information you need to bring the EYP to your school and offer your students a unique experience. If you don’t yet have an idea of what we do as an association and why we believe your students can benefit greatly from participating in our events, please don’t hesitate to contact the board. Below, we briefly present our two project lines.

Annual school competition
In our three-stage National Selection Process (NSP), participants debate in English, following the model of the European Parliament. Individual delegates or school delegations can apply. The first stage of the application process consists of an essay expressing the applicant’s understanding of the main topic. All information about the NSP, the academic concept, and the application process can be found here.
Our teachers organize the EYP project very differently at their schools. Of course, students can also apply without a teacher.
“I let my students work on their texts during regular class and I am there to advise them.”
Stephan Schieren, teacher at Landrat-Lucas-Gymnasium Leverkusen“Our students organize themselves as much as possible. Every year, I encourage interested students to get together as a group and write a paper.”
Gunnar Schmidt, English and history teacher at Jungmannschule Eckernförde
